Another good choice, used by my Icelandic class, is Þorsteins þáttur
stangarhöggs - not only is it fairly short, but it introduces a number of
concepts basic to Icelandic sagas helpful for non-Icelanders. It's at:

It's the first place I found Grettis saga Ásmundarson in the original,
which is easily one of my favourites - he was an antihero centuries before
anyone coined the term.
