On another list, someone asked (in jest, I think)
How does one say "mea culpa" in Old Norse?
Well, I find I'm curious ... and lack the vocabulary.
Has anyone got any suggestions?
How close can one get to the implications/nuances of
that particular phrase, with its built in allusion to
Christian confession, and the modern implication of
not being a very important fault? (The situation in
question involves a minor kitchen mistake at a gathering.)
