I think Óskar has clarified our position
fairly well but I didn't think he mentioned
the greatest problem:)

The trouble with having many formats is keeping
them all updated! Let's say we want to publish
everything in html, txt and rtf. Then we want all
files to be available on the homepage and in this
list's files section. Naturally, they will have to
exist on the home computer as well. This would leave
us with 9 seperate files to keep updated! That can
be handled if one program is able to save files in
those three formats but it's a terrible chore to
write html-codes, fix the lines in a txt file et
cætera.

I suggested to Óskar that we'd only use html and
drop all other formats. He rejected the idea,
finding it much more comfortable to edit documents
in Word than Notepad.

There is no Microsoft conspiracy going on -
I don't care whether you write dir or ls to
see files in a directory. Just give us a reasonable
plan to write this course and we'll do it that way.
