Did my message really look like that at your end?
That's bad news for Mac users. But when I go into yahoogroups,
I think it looks like it should. I'll try to check it from
a Windows machine as well.

Your machine has somehow managed to produce 3 characters out of 1.
You have for exampe transmitted:

’Äì

What I see is 3 chars: 1: a comma, 2: an uc A with umlaut, 3: a lc i accent
grave.
But when I sent it out, it was just one char: a lc o-umlaut.
The first and last char here look like some kind of quotation marks
that I haven't seen before. You also send the message in 2 parts.
first ascii and then html. Here is what it *should* have looked like:

Öllum mönnum skal með lögum ráða. (2)

We were asked to look at the file "otail.doc" in the group's file
area. What do *you* make of that file when you download it from
the norse_course file area?

What did you think of lesson 1?

><BR>ˆ…llum m’Äìnnum skal me’Ä¢ l’Äìgum r¬…’Ä¢a.  (2)

I hope we can solve the problems, or I'll have to revert to pure ascii.
Earlier I did have the impression that my computer was transmitting
things just normal. But now I am beginning to doubt.
