No, I didn't interpret it that way at all.
Your idea of another list is also quite good,
though experience shows that the creation of new lists tends
to weaekn the existing ones. i.e. lists that were very active
a few years ago, are now very meagre.

Your letter came across in a very friendly tone; it really did.

But I don't think there is any other environment (list) on
the internet where there is a specific dedication to the Old Norse
language and its grammar. According to Eysteinn (who left this list
I think), this is currently THE place for such activity.

There are some good ON scholars here and there on the net.
But discussion of language detail over the net in an elementary
manner (i.e. that all can understand - albeit occasionally
with some effort) is only sporadic. They spend their time
publishing in the journals, and don't have so much time for
activities such as these.


A few years ago I also looked for mailing lists where the language
of communication was Icelandic, but I didn't find any.
All I found were lists for members of certain families.
