I don't know if this is the recording to which you refer - I received it
without any attribution - but I don't think so, it sounds like an earlier
portion of the poem, although I haven't taken the time to sit down with the

That voice sounds like Sveinbjorn Beinteinsson, and it is Modern Icelandic
pronunciation (right, Haukur?). Especially pronouncing u like German ue is a
difference that stands out.

Sequentia is singing with instruments, and they are actually trying a
reconstructed Old Norse pronunciation. Their melodies are based on old
Norwegian and Icelandic folk songs. They put a lot of good work into the
Edda CD.
