I have one simple goal from being on this list, I would like to be able to
recite the Havamal in Old Norse with some semblance of proper pronunciation.

I would be very grateful for anyone's guidance towards this goal.

That is one of my next projects, as well. I guess it goes back to the
pronunciation guides we received at the beginning. Some samples of Havamal
verses would be a good thing, too. Long sound recordings would not work very
well for our teachers, it seems.

There is a pretty good recording of the seven rune verses of Havamal in Old
Norse pronunciation (in my opinion, what does Haukur and Oskar think?) on the
CD "Edda" of Sequentia. Sequentia went to Iceland when they were learning
it, and had the help of Heimir Palsson and people of the Arne Magnusson
Institute.

The singing style is a bit too "churchy" for my taste, but then Sequentia is
used to doing a lot of Hildegard von Bingen, and it shows.

The rest of the CD is good, too, Voluspa, Þrymskviða, etc.

Greetings,
Birgit
