Those are probably from the same word since:

formi:do: = fear \ frightful thing L;

múrmos = fear, mormo- (cp) G;
mormó:(n) (f) = spectre/bugbear, mórmoros = fear, mormúno: = cause to fear G;
múrme:x () múrme:kas \ búrma:kas (p a) Hes = beast of prey G;

mara ON; mære\mera = succubus, mare = nightmare/monster OE; mare E; Du; Mahr NHG;
zmora = n Po; mura = n / moth Cz; mãras = pest Lh;

show all the same odd correspondences (not just m-m / f-m) and specific dis. (and -d- vs -n/r- , etc.) as:

formi:ca L;

bórma:x \ búrma:x \ múrme:x \ múrma:x Dor \ múrmos G;

Murmidónes (p) = (fierce warlike people desc from ants (or Zeus > ant) in myth) G;
murme:dó:n () murme:dónos (g) = ant(s' nest) G;
mermíllo:n \ mormíllo:n \ murmúllo:n (s) mormíllones (p) = lightly armed gladiator G;

with the meanings above suggesting 'insect' > 'deadly insect' > 'deadly beast' > etc.

Probably. Since *wormo\wr,mo+ also shows *wr,mo+ > *wërmo > warme = ant TB; in addition to many cognates meaning 'worm' (or just 'insect' (var~mas = insect/mosquito Lith; etc.)). They are also both probably more complicated than just *mormo+ or *wormo+ (since -n- AND -dë- or -j^ë-/-j^i- in ordn = worm , *murj^imun > mrj^imn Arm; etc., show maybe from *wer.ks.-xY-t*ixY-n.o+ > *wör-x-xY-wi-no+ > *mor-ywi-no+ > *mor-yi-mon+ , etc.).
