I can't help bringing here the entry Vladimir Orel wrote on this word in his 'A Handbook of Germanic Etymology'. Just in case it comes handy:

*laiwaziko:n sb.f.:
Sweb *lawerka `lark', OSwed laerikia id., ON lævirki id., OE la:werce id., NFris la:sk (< *laiwas(i)ko:n), OS le:werka id., OHG le:rihha id.
A difficult word, probably an old compound. TORP-FALK 355; KLUGE Nom. Stamm 32–33; VASMER ZfslavPh XII 103 (reconstructs Gmc *laiwo: `lark' > Slvn léva id.); HOLTHAUSEN KZ L 141–142 (*laiw- to Gk),AEEW 193; ONIONS 515; KOEBLER 715; KLUGE-SEEBOLD 515
