For <z^íedas> 'blossom, ring' dictionaries suggest connections with a
very insecure PIE root, *g^eih-, this, however, is a mere root equation
which does not explain the morphological structure of the word or its
derivational history. <ti`ltas> has an impeccable IE etymology,
*tl.h2-tó- 'something supported', from the very well attested root *telh2-.
