Herodotus mention that Colchians were dark, curly-haired, and descendant of
Egyptian soldiers of Sesostris' army. Is there sure information that confirmate
this? Herodotus was the Father of History but included in their stories too many
legends and absurds, as winged snakes. Sesostris conquest of Balkans seems too
exaggerated, and maybe reflected a parallel for the Persian invasion of Europe.

Supposedly, based on that story, some Turkish Sultan brought in a few hundred Africans and there is still a village or neighborhood of people of African ancestry there. The same thing supposedly happened in Ucinj on the Albanian-Macedonian border__
