ENEMNO = anvil in Gaulish ?
But in Germanic An-vil = to strike upon
in Latin Incus/Uncutio = to strike upon/To hurt/To hit
so may be a proto-celtique Ande-Gwhon- <> Ande-Uano (?)
IE Gwhen- = to hit
see Old Irish Gonim = I wound, and Ind = Under (not upon ?)
Scot Gon = explosion
Brittonic : Old Breton Anneffin/Anemn → Breton Annev. Old Cornic Ennian → Cornic Anwan. Old Welsh Ennian → Welsh Einion.
Gaélic : Écossais Innean. Old irish Indéin → Middle Irish Indéoin → Irlandais Inneoin. Manx Ingan (?).
Germanic : High Old German Anafalz → German Amboss. Old English Anfilte (An : On + Filtan : Hit ) → Anglish Anvil. Frisian Ambyld. Deutsh Aanbeeld. Danish Ambolt.
What do you think ?
