Oh, that's nice. This would make *aura-wandilaz and Greek ausos-phoros parallel or cognate formations. I'm thinking in O:rion, too, if it from something as *Auso-riyon- or *Ausriyon-.  Indian S^ukra (<*k^ukro- "shining") could be related to Greek Kyknos (kûknos), name of the swan, but also of many giants and enemies of heroes; and Norse Hugi (*K^ukon-).

IMO, *h2aus-ro- > *ausra- > *austra-, but in a Vernerian environment
*auzra- > *aura-. I have collected more examples of *-zr- > -(:)r-,
including one very similar doublet.
