Some time back several people wanted a debate on race etc etc. I refrained from joining, anticipating the usual attrition battle of long spent arguments.
But since the thing we all want is material wealth, and since that standard example of that is the US in the 50's and 60' of the former century, and since the generation of that wealth was driven by technological innovation and since that is ascribed to some inner dynamics or property of the system of governance I thought I would bring in some less well known information into the debate.

Now, obviously we can't expect any similar effect from any phenomenon on the sociological front today. The only option we have, as far as I can see, would be to find some suitable casus belli with China, and then hope we can effectuate a similar technology transfer 5 - 10 years from now.
