A Kenyan friend of mine told me that in grad school he had a militant African-American student who badgered all the Africans for genuine African name. Someone "helped" him out telling him that the names meant "nectar" and "ambrosia" in Kiswahili, while in reality they meant "urine" and "feces". My friend told me he tried to set the guy right but the guy called him a liar and a sell out.
