I've argued (following Kuhn!) for the same *wend- language to have been spoken on both side of expanding Germanic-speakers. Note

how nicely Jastorf plows its way into a unitary culture here. A few dots at the tip of Brittany and inside Russia would have been nice, bit you can't have everything.

Stated otherwise, the Venetic of the Lusatian Culture
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lusatian_culture
and the NWBlock 1 of the Elp(?)culture
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elp_culture
(-800BCE, says Wiki, replaced by Hallstatt, but Halstatt

was never in the Netherlands)
are likely to have been related.
