Oddly enough, I've heard this expression on recent American television
(specifically the character Karen on Will & Grace), and I've been
mystified because up to now I've never heard anyone use "Are you
coming with?" in English, anywhere. I started to believe that it must
have arisen from English-speaking people who are familiar with German,
who learned the expression "mitkommen" and liked it, thought "why
don't we say the same thing in English?" and decided to try it out in
English and see if they could disseminate it by writing it into the
script of a popular TV series.
I've only ever heard "Are you coming with us/Are you coming along" in
spoken English, anywhere.
