To tell the truth I've only watched part of one episode of a show Dave
Chappelle had on the comedy network (don't remember the name). That
episode was reminiscent of Chris Rock's excessive emphasis on being
black, which I find a turn-off. So I never watched anything else by
Dave Chappelle. Perhaps I made too much of an assumption about his
comedy. BTW I don't know who Charlie Murphy or Rick James are. I
don't mean to sound humorless, because I laugh a lot every day whether
it's my own private humor or anyone else's humor, on TV or otherwise,
but I find many of Chris Rock's acts embarrassing for black people
because they seem to perpetuate racism, except now perpetrated by
black people instead of their former oppressors (and this is pretty
widespread among many in the U.S. black community). But because of
your recommendation I will keep an eye out for anything else by Dave
Chappelle.
