I grew up with the Nordic version as a moderately frequent
dinner, presumably because my mother did: her parents
emigrated from Norway in their 20s. We just called it
cinnamon rice, though, not risengrynsgrøt (or whatever the
local -- trøndersk -- term was, if it was different). Very
good vehicle for cinnamon.
