They gave arguments for each particular hydronymic, I'm not aware that
they used general arguments (eg. archaeological) for the presence of
Baltic Finnic speakers in Poland.
They all wrote in Polish (I'm getting them from the library to see
what little I can get from them), I get their arguments from Udolph's
polemic against them in 'Die Stellung der Gewässernamen Polens
innerhalb der alteuropäischen Hydronomie'. In the case of the river

(btw if *balg- means- "safe, hidden place", then the Slavic root
corresponding to Pol. bl/ogi "selig, glückselig, glücklich",
bl/ogos´c´ "Wohlbehagen, Glückseligkeit" is perhaps related anyway,
pace Udolph). Perhaps you'd like to add Boulogne and Belgium? ;-)
