The tale of Abraham and Isaac seems to fit in the same pattern. And there's a lamb on it, too... It's possible that the common elements were older than IE... But I'm finding some interesting coincidences.

Then again the Bosso people at the bend of the Niger river have a
story of a woman who brought a dead ram back to life through shamanic
dance, turning into a bird, and resting her wings on the ram for
three days, infusing it with life force.

May be broader than PIE, is what i'm saying.
