Res: [tied] The -SG- in Greek (PELASGOS)

We have the goddess Pallas (gen. Pallados), and the giant and titan Pallas (gen. Pallantos). Maybe these names were related to Pelasgos (and similar ones: Pelops, Peleus, Pelias; but it can be just coincidental).
Pallas seems a Pre-Greek name analogous to Hellas (gen. Hellados). I'm not saying that both are related, but that they can belong to the same Pre-Greek substratal language.

What is the IE root for Pallas? Is it related to *pel- (vel sim) "gray"? Or is the statement that Athena had gray eyes etiological?
