nuclei" (your author's words) should be analysed as "consonantal glides".
I pointed at your author's contradictions.
Why should the analysis from "complex vowel nuclei" to "consonantal glides"
be entirely reversed the day the word "yacht" is borrowed from English ?

For your own enlightment, this complete reversal of analysis can be dated
1572, the year the word "yacht" is attested in French.
How nice it is to be able to date a phonological change with such a
