> A pramfarter, even better, must have impressed your British guests
My father who worked on one of the large hospitals in Copenhagen told
that on the occasion of a visit by queen Elizabeth, they had to put
little stickers over the illuminated 'I FART' ("moving") button in the
elevators.

DEO:
pram c., ["barge"] ODa., No., OSw. id., Sw. pråm, late ON prámr; like
Germ. Prahm, Engl. pram loaned though MHG pra:m from OCz. pra:m, corr.
ChSl. pramU "boat", Russ. paróm "ferry, boat", ON farmr "shipload", OS
farm "journey", OHG farm "boat", OE fearm "load, freight"; all to the
same root as II. fare.
But DEO doesn't know of any NWB source etc anyway.
