A PIE _root_ can't be thematic. A _stem_ is thematic if its final
segment is -e/o- (as in *bHer-e/o-, *spek^-je/o-, *gWm.-sk^e/o-,
*gWr.h3-e/o- etc.). Otherwise it's called athematic (like *gWHen-,
*ste:w-, *h1es-, *kWer-, *k^l.-ne-w- [with a nasal infix] etc.).

Pokorny's "*ghow(e:)-" is a dobtful root, reflected only in Slavic and
Germanic forms. A PIE reconstriuction would hardly be justifiable.
