And we know that Caesar uses "Gallia" and "Galli" in distinct senses depending on the context. In his report of Ariovistus' statement "Gallia" stands for the Aedui and their allies, not for "Ariovistus' Gallia". Your notion that Magetobriga was fought in 58 BCE with Sequani and Aedui vs. Ariovistus is fantastically inaccurate. There's nothing more to be said on the matter.****
