That's indeed worth reading.

I have not yet reached the last page,
but there's already a serious weakness in the identifications proposed by
Woudhuizen (or his predecessors).

On page 36,
The names of the Sea-people are given in a near alphabetic way by the
Egyptians,

Sherden : s^art.n or s^ardn
shekelesh : s^aklus^a
lukka : luku
teresh : turs^a
peleset : pursac^
tjeker : c^akar
ekwesh : iqawas^a
wes^es^ : was^as^a
denyen : t.aynyu or daynyu

I'm quite amazed by some points :
- Borghouts who is apparently responsible for the transliteration must be
incredibly dogmatic about the hieroglyphic system not to see that some signs
are used to write vowels. This practice is known for centuries before the
Sea-People. As a matter of fact, the names are spelled with vowels, as these
names are not vocalisable as Egyptian native words could be.
- some identifications are completely impossible : iqawasha with the
Acheans. washasha with the Oscans.
- it's unclear if the shaklusha are the same people as the shikil of Ugarit.
And even darker is the identification with sikul-. Vowels !!

All in all, the author somehow spoils his work with the use of inadequate
renditions of Egyptian transliterations.
Everything goes out of control, as the Danaoi have nothing to do with the
t.aynyu or daynyu. The _replacement_ of the Egyptian name by denyen amounts
to forgery. He is not the first to do that. But it's so incredible that
Wordhuizen replaces the real name by something (even though traditional)
then compares that fake name with Danaoi. This is not science.
