My thanks to everyone for giving so much feedback, it is really
appreciated!

So, having determined the source of Nodens as the- proto-Celtic
*Noudant – meaning something to do with acquiring or utilizing...

And that *noudant, in turn derives from the Proto-Indo-European *neud
(meaning 'acquire, utilise, go fishing')

And we have already mentioned how the Saxon Saxnote/Seaxneat is based
on *Nautam- 'thing of value, possession' , or *Nuataz- (as in the Proto-
Gmc compound *Ga-Nautaz, meaning `one who shares his possessions,
comrade') , which also derive from the PIE *neud-.

It then begs the question of any possible connection between Nodens and
Saxnot. The standard theory is that Nuada, and possibly Saxnot are
correlates of the Norse Tyr; however I have suggested (on the PIE list)
that both deities may actually be correlates to Frey (who has a magical
sword like Nuada, generally occupies the 3rd position in Germano-Norse
triads, has some aquatic traits, and loses his sword possibly akin to
Nuada's hand)

Any thoughts?
