Dear all,
All of you must be aware of disproved folklore of St Thomas coming to
South India.
However, it gives rise to an interesting side talk on the connections
of South India with Persia on one hand and the inscription evidences
there, on the other.
Right now, what caught my interest from a discussion elsewhere is the
words for cross in different south Indian languages.
Telugu and Tamil derive their words from probably Armaic or
syric(siluva/ciluvai).
Malayalam uses a Portugese word 'Kurissu' which largely points to the
fact that Christianity in Kerala must be a result of advent of
Portugese there.
