Albanian word heshtë 'arrow' was treated by Meyer as a loan from
Latin hasta 'spear' and by Jokl as a derivative of hell 'broach,
spit, skewer' + -sta:. I think that better explanation we get if we
treat Alb. heshtë 'arrow' as derivative of Alb. hedh 'to throw'
(<*skeud-o, *sk- > h, d > dh / V_V) and old suffix -sta: (cf.
vjel 'to gather' and vjeshtë 'automn' < vjel-sta:).
Also, if we have in mind the loss of /h/ in prV- + h in
prapë 'again', prapa 'behind' from prV- + *H4ep, despite attested
form hap 'to open', I guess that also Alb predhë 'missile' could easy
be a prefixed derivative of PAlb prV- + hedh-a:.
