A silly argument, just showing how little you know about these things.
When Germanic compound names were Latinised, the "linking" thematic
vowel of the first member was substituted by -o- almost invariably, as
in Theodoricus < *þeuda-ri:k-, Odoacer/Odovacar < *auþða-wakra-, and so
on, and so forth. The same in tribal names: would you say that the -o-
in <Langobardi> is not Germanic?
