It's a well known root *y_r "moment, time"

The only unknown point is : is *y from *y or *(d)z- ?
On account of Chinese shi2 < *dzyi, "moment"
and xiao3shi2 "small moment" = "hour"
I would conclude that *dz_r is the best solution.
This is also supported by Eg sa-t < dz_r-t "one of the 36 decans"
