When we talk of Vedas, we have to think of two things

1. When they were composed
 2. when the events described therein happened

When the Vedas were "written" is practically irrelevant because practically, it is considered that Vedas should not written down and hence, they might have not written until many centuries after the script has evolved.

Even today, we find it very difficult to find Vedas in their entirety in vernacular languages. In Telugu itself, hardly any work has gone in this regard barring a telugu translation of Dasarathi.
