I haven't followed this thread, but I'm guessing you're discussing the length of the -u- in Greek ainumai.
 
It's short, e.g. Homer, Odyssey 9:225  tu:ro:n ainumenu:s ....  must scan long-long long-short-short-long
 
Liddel and Scott also give a bunch of other examples.
