Oops, I actually intended to write *h2ant- (preserved in Hittite as a
root noun); *h2anti is its locative, meaning 'in front' --> 'opposite,
against, before', etc.

By the way, the roots */h2ent-/ and */h3ekW-/ meet in Latin anti:quus <
*h2anti-h3kW-o-s 'appearing before' --> 'former, ancient'.
