My, what a modern young man you are!

Up until recently, boys and girls had different functions and work
assignments in the household.

You think 'father' is going to get up early to milk the cows if he has an
'indentured' relative to do it?

All the nuclear family member names are functional: father - protector;
mother - nurser; daughter - milker, etc.

Why else would they all have habitual suffixes: -*te/or?

If you want the explanation for 'brother', research it in the Cybalist
files.
