long time now that the "Kyiv Foundation Legend"
recorded in the Tale of Bygone Years is based on
historical facts of the 5th and 6th centuries (some
mentioned by Jordanes, others by Zenob Glak (an
Armenian source). These Late Huns were active on the
Lower Dnipro ("Var" in their language) and in the
Crimea. There is no reason to doubt of scattered
presences elsewhere in Europe, both East and West.
