I think not. There are three forms attested in various IE languages
and they go back to:
*Hoikos
*Hoinos
*Hoiwos

*k, *n, and *w must be root determinatives.

These are not root determinatives.

They are second elements of compounds with the deictic: *k^-, 'other'; *n-,
'one'; *w-. 'piece' (from *b-)
