How do you account for this vocalic split ?
a > e / o
I suppose you use only three vowels because of PAA
but I warn you that :
PIE *e = PAA *a
PIE *o = PAA *u
PIE *i = PAA *i
PIE *u or *w was fused into emphatic consonants
at least in Semitic and Berber.
I don't have a clear example for Egyptian.
It's possible that *o and *u fused into *u
in Egyptian.
