Rick, you could not be more wrong. And what is particularly infuriating, is that you obviously did not bother to look at the critique in the link below -  or at my website, where I have correspondence tables for _15_ different languages.

I have done _exactly_ the same thing Bomhard has; and the only difference is in the answers I came up with. I have not published except on the web but Bomhard's books were vanity publishing. He spent the money to have his work published; a publisher did _not_ come to him with check in hand. Signum is his own publishing company.

Bomhard saw my work as "unprofessional" because my system was in competition with his own. I challenged him many times to debate the details online but he chickened out.

If you would read the critique I linked below, you can see why he felt vulnerable.

He was sloppy in some cases, and grossly inconsistent in others.

If you do not have the time to read the requisite material, have the grace not to pronounce judgments about things, of which you obviously know nothing.

I have distinguished between mass comparison and what I have done innumerable times on this list and others; and your statements are shoddy.

Patrick

Bomhard made a systematic correspondence of language
families that form Nostratic. He saw your work as
unprofessional because you limited yourself to mass
com. Bomhard may have errors or may be on the wrong
track BUT he used a falsifiable scientific method.
Mass com, in and of itself, is not a falsifiable
scientific method.
Bomhard can certainly be criticized and his results
will surely be superceded when better data is
available but only someone who can master
reconstruction will be taken seriously.
