The verb occurs in, at least, one Egyptian folksong I know: El Re:m Wadi: Thaqi:f.

shufak "see you (later)" with English <sh> sound. I
don't know what his criteria was --whether it was
originally non-Arabic, whether it just didn't show up
in the Qur'an or whether it was a later formation. I'd
check for relatives in Semitic
