As regards dek°m "ten"
my point of view is that *dek is "finger"
and -°m is "ten"
as in Hurrian em-an "ten"

As regard kmtom,
I don't believe in either d- or H- prefix,
a connection with *k-m is interesting
but not clear :
why is the number so big (neither five nor ten) ?
what does -tom mean ?

As regards (s-)mighl "thousand"
I think it might be the name of the scolopender,
and another myria-pod.
Cf. Chinese wan4 < *mon : ten thousand
the character for wan4 used to mean a scorpion, a myriapod
in archaic Chinese.
