The change occurs in a few isolated words. As Sihler says, "the data are
characteristic of dialect borrowing".
As for Odysseus/Ulixes, there is unclarity. Some Greek forms of the word
with l are alleged to exist, so we can't be certain of how the form arrived
in Latin.
