In PIE *w(e)rwo+ 'covering' formed a noun *w(e)rwa:x
-oik+ -ik+ 'fleece > sheep, etc.' which became
*w(e)rwe:n. *w(e)run.+ by contamination with
*w(e)rfe:n. 'male, bull, etc.' (in some languages or
optionally in PIE?).

*werwik+ > Lat vervex 'wether', Oss wærykk 'lamb'

*wr.we:n. > *wr.e:n. > are:n, gaRn, etc.

*wrun.+ > rrunë
