It's recessive ((-)acute) but *-noN- "immobilizes" the (-)acute, whereas
*-ě- does not. You also have *sta´´noN (a. p. a) but *stâjoN (a. p. c).
Latv. is stât, thus (-)acute, like be^gt. *-noN-verbs are simple not
relevant here.
