(ca. 2,800-2,200 BCE), pointing out their Rigvedic cut
affinities, and identifying them with developing
proto-Indic elements (in contrast to the Inhul variant
of the same culture further to the West where he
discerns cultic traits foreshadowing the later
Zoroastrianism), suggests that the proto-Greeks were
represented by the earlier Budzhak group of the Late
Yamna culture (ca. 3,200-2,800 BCE), located between
the Dnister and Danube, with some sites as far south
