Not to mention Kurdish, the Pamir languages and the two surviving NE
Iranian languages related to the Scytho-Sarmatian complex of the
Pontic-Caspian steppes: Yaghnobi (the descendant of Sogdian) and Ossetic
(the descendant of Alanic), still farther afield.
