For torrë and torrua Meyer thinks: "torrë f. 'Umkreis, Umlauf';
Adv. 'rings herum' griech. Bei Mitk. torrë, torrua 'Strasse'. Aus it.
torno' (EW, pp. 433). Nevertheless, torua was derived by Jokl from
Slavic *torove 'paths, traces' (cf. also potkua < Slavic potkov). So,
humb toruan (cf. humb udhën/rrugën/fillin) could have the meaning 'to
lose the path, trace, whence to became confused'. I think that Jokl's
explanation is correct, especially if we take into account that this
construction is characteristic only for south dialect. Nevertheless,
as vocalism, as well as consonantism are very strange. So, if we agree
that Alb tjerr 'to spin' is from *terkW- 'to twist', we may easy
assume that torrë 'tour, circle' could be from lengthened e-grade form
*te:rkW-eH2.
