Embla's meaning

What's the meaning and etymology of Norse Embla, tree turned into the first woman?
There is frequent attempts to explain her names as from *Elma, "elm-tree", since her husband was Askr "ash".

Embla seems analogous to Bestla, so we may suppose
Embla < *Ambilo:n  *Amilo:n *Am(b)lijo:on
Bestla < *Bastilo:n
