It's very tempting to compare gender in Central Khoisan with IE and AA
- see Alscher's discussion at
http://www.dabis.at/Anwender.htm/Alscher/afroasia.htm . However,
Starostin managed to convince himself that Central Khoisan was related
to Northern and Southern Khoisan, but not, for example, to the East
African languages sometimes lumped in with Khoisan (e.g. Sandawe).
However, this is pushing things so far back that the discussion really
belongs on a Nostratic list rather than on an Indo-European list.
